Neuhausen midsummer fire — flames on the Biet hills

Summer solstice with Neuhausen music society: bonfire, music and barbecue on the Biet plateau between Neuhausen and Steinegg.

When days are longest, traditional midsummer fires blaze on the Biet hills. Neuhausen's music society hosts the celebration — flames visible far across the Enzkreis: tall fire, music and conviviality on the shortest night of the year.

The event usually falls around the summer solstice, often on a Saturday in June. Meeting point is Neuhausen (Furtstraße); from there you head onto the hills between Neuhausen and Steinegg — close to Das Bollenhut Haus, reachable on foot, by bike or a short drive.

Besides the large fire there is usually barbecue food, sometimes fries and ice cream — live music from the society and a relaxed summer evening with views over the Biet, Gäu and Northern Black Forest. A atmospheric outing for families and couples without a long journey.

Dates can shift slightly (2026: 20 June, 6 pm per mv-neuhausen.de). Please check Neuhausen music society's website before visiting — weather and organisation may change details.
