Fasnet parades Neuhausen & Tiefenbronn — Shrove Sunday in the Biet
The major Shrove Sunday parades in Neuhausen and Tiefenbronn: Hau Hu, Narrenbund Neuhausen, TCV Schmellenhopfer and Swabian-Alemannic custom near Schellbronn.
In the Biet people say Fasnet — and Shrove Sunday is the loud climax before the quiet season of Lent. While Schellbronn shines in January with its night parade, two neighbouring villages march through their streets on Sunday afternoon: Neuhausen and Tiefenbronn are only a few kilometres from Das Bollenhut Haus — genuine village life, not a show for tourists.
In Neuhausen the great traditional Fasnet parade of Narrenbund Neuhausen e.V. traditionally starts at 1:33 pm. More than 60 groups pass through the village — led by Hau Hu with disco team, garde and council of eleven. Narrenbund Schellau, the local music society, witch groups, Bietschellen and guest guilds from the Enz district often take part. Onion cake at the stalls, drums, masks and Guggen bands — bunting in the streets, the village full of life.
In Tiefenbronn the Schmellenhopfer parade (TCV 1954 e.V.) follows at 2 pm. Around 70 groups — prince's float, garde, Guggen musicians and fools from near and far — move from the assembly area (Feldbergstraße / Wimsheimer Straße) through the village. Foolish revelry and snack stands come before; the Gemmingenhalle often hosts the after-party. The TCV notes limited parking and recommends bus line 666 from the region.
Both parades fall on Shrove Sunday — the date changes every year (Neuhausen per Narrenbund: 15 Feb 2026 at 1:33 pm; Tiefenbronn next date per TCV: 7 Feb 2027 at 2 pm). You can do Neuhausen first and Tiefenbronn afterwards on the same day. When roads around Schellbronn are closed, organisers often suggest diversions via Tiefenbronn and Steinegg.
