Märchengarten Ludwigsburg — fairy tales & Blooming Baroque

Fairy-tale garden in Blooming Baroque Ludwigsburg: over 50 fairy-tale stations, Märchenbach boat ride and baroque garden — family day trip from the Northern Black Forest.

About 50 minutes by car from Schellbronn, Ludwigsburg offers one of the region's best-known family outings: the fairy-tale garden in Blooming Baroque. Over 50 lovingly designed fairy tales — from Little Red Riding Hood to Rumpelstiltskin — stand in the large garden by the residential palace. Admission to the fairy-tale garden and the Märchenbach boat ride are included in the BlüBa ticket.

Märchengarten Ludwigsburg

The fairy-tale garden is not a loud amusement park but a stroll garden for children and adults: figures, small buildings, water features and surprising corners among pines and flower beds. Many paths are level and stroller-friendly; with more time, explore the rest of the park — flower halls, Emichsburg, lake paradise and baroque terraces around the palace.

The fairy-tale garden opens only during Blooming Baroque season — typically March to December, daily about 9 am to 6 pm. The whole park has longer hours; Sundays, public holidays and school holidays are busier — weekday mornings are quieter if you can. Family tickets and online tickets are worthwhile; prices differ by season and weekday.

Address: Mömpelgardstraße 28, 71640 Ludwigsburg — car parks at Blooming Baroque or by bus from Ludwigsburg station (stop "Blühendes Barock"). Combines well with Keltenmuseum Hochdorf or a stop in Pforzheim on the way. Current admission, season start and special events on blueba.de.
